All of my past research projects have been very broad and general. I have written about many things but I can say right now that I have never dug so deep into a research project as much as I have an English 102. In this class we have gone into every detail and we have been able to change a project from a proposal to a persuasive and then eventually to a final research project. When I originally started taking this course I assumed we would be writing multiple different research projects and they would be the same as in high school that I wrote or in middle school where the essay was very vague and it was like a standard five paragraph essay. But this class has shown me that a five paragraph essay is not always enough and that we always have to be digging deeper and finding more and more good quality sources and always be thinking about who we are targeting and who our audience is. I was surprised by the persuasive turn we talk but it makes sense because when trying to change anything in our daily life we need to be considerate of how we do have to persuade whoever we are talking to or whoever is affected by the change that we want to make. With this research project I can see looking over everything it seems as though we went into a full circle looking at every angle, every source, and every detail from different aspects as well to be able to form a grades and intelligent persuasive research project. I would say it has changed the way I do any research project in general in the future.
My view about the taxed as some thing unitary and singular has drastically changed. I noticed that writing requires a lot more thought than just putting words on paper. In regards to research project it has involved multiple steps and different viewpoints. For example we went from the project proposal to the source project. In this since we went from trying to get the project allowed and then directly into how can we back up our project so that what we are saying Actually makes sense and is credible. From then on we went to our actual persuasive research project which is where we are at now. It has taken us multiple steps to figure out how to construct our research project in the most productive and the most purposeful way to be able to get what we want out of it which is to implement the recycling system within TSS Accounting. We’re going through all the steps to be able to understand how we can use any type of research with all of the same steps.
I think my writer sense has changed because I’m less trying to worry about getting words on a page and more worried about am I achieving what I want to through my writing. Is everything being explained the way I wanted to be to reach my end goal. I think sometimes I forget what my angle is and I can get just lost in my words in my writing. And this research project work has taught me that I need to be always thinking about my purpose and who I’m talking to and what I’m trying to achieve in the whole process.
