Writer's Journal #14

I think my first rough draft was very well written but I do need to go over and check for any grammar and spelling errors. I also need to make sure that my sentences flow better because although I have all my ideas on the page. Some of my paragraphs need to flow better by including a better beginning sentence and a better closing sentence that reintroduces the next paragraph.

The first step I’m going to take is reading over the introduction and see how I could smooth it over and perhaps summarize overall the whole primary research project. Then I’m going to delve into my paragraphs and see how they can transition better and also I might put it into Google translate and have it read to me out loud. This helps me to be able to understand if what I’m saying makes sense because it’s easy to think that what I’m saying makes sense because I’m the one writing it and I know what I’m trying to say versus a reader reading it. They might not see what I see and they might not be able to understand what I’m saying because sometimes what I’m saying doesn’t flow as smoothly as I imagine it does. After I have read through all my paragraphs then I’m going to read my conclusion and see what is missing or perhaps what I need to be less specific on.

I think some of my paragraphs need a little more work and they need a little more meat to them. Although I have all my ideas on the page I don’t think that as a writer I did a very good job of describing exactly what I’m talking about and being specific. This is where I when I read it over and I start editing where it’ll become viral to do so and be that concise.

I think I have 16 hours left to turn in the assignment and therefore that is plenty of time to manage my revisions and begin that process. I do work today so I will have to do a little more time management than normal but I still think I have plenty of time to look over everything and make sure I get it checked over. I may also ask my boyfriend just read over it to see if everything I’m saying makes actual sense. Sometimes he is able to catch things that I didn’t notice. I feel confident about my essay or my primary research project and I think that as long as I’m able to revise some things and look over and make sure that everything is run smoothly then I should be all set. I have all the right ideas and I’m pretty confident overall. I am a little nervous about finding the right multi modal images. I have found one but I’m still looking for another good one and how I can incorporate that within the essay.
