Because this is the first writing assignment that is being graded, that I have written in four years, I was anxious when I first saw it. I know I will have to really dig in my brain to try to remember all the writing assignments and projects I have worked on in the past. What really stands out to me about the assignments is the fact that it is a narrative. That means I can talk about my personal experience and it involves no heavy research. I am excited to be able to share with others about my writing skills experience and growth. I can say I am not the same writer I was even four years ago. I am concerned though that I will struggle with coming up with particular details and context when I am writing the literacy narrative.

The most communication literacies I use today are texting my friends and my boss, writing content for the social media marketing job I have, and writing discussion posts and assignments for my classes. The most important out of those is probably all the writing I do for my education. I say this is the most important because my education is what is going to help me get my dream career. I need to write well and concisely so that I can learn the material, participate in the class, and end up getting good grades. My friends and my boss are both very important, but texting can almost always wait. After all, texting is still relatively new in society. Writing content for my social media marketing job is also important because I need to be successful in my job so that I am not fired and so that I may even get a raise. If I do not write the content or if I do not write it well, it is not the end of the world. I have a boss who manages me and will help me if I ever need it. The content I write for the company blog is read by hundreds of people, but at the end of the day, I am not the only one that can write such content.

Most of the communication literacies I know today, someone originally had to teach me how to do it. Texting I mostly learned from my group of friends when we all got cell phones. The more I began texting, the easier it became to communicate through text, and I was able to make more sense of it. Writing discussion posts and assignments, I learned mostly from my schooling and education. It started out in elementary school where I learned to put sentences together. Slowly I was able to form paragraphs and then I went on to write essays. My teachers had to show me the right ways to write. Those were the ways to make sure everything flowed nicely, and proper grammar was used. Now I am able to write pages full on any topic with research. My blogging talent I mostly learned through narrative type writing done in school and in my own free time by writing and getting other people to talk about how they felt and what they thought about as they read my writing. Most of the blogging I do for my social media marketing job is research based and kind of like writing a research paper every time. As you can see, each of these communication literacies involved learning and practicing writing.
