1. Arizona State University website: https://www.asu.edu/

a. “ASU is creating a safe and welcoming environment for the fall 2020 semester where students can confidently live and learn.” (pathos)

b. “U.S. News & World Report ranks ASU #1 in the U.S. for innovation” (logos)

c. Class image (multimodal)

Purpose: The purpose here seems to be to recruit students and to have them be comfortable when going back to school knowing that Arizona State University is a safe and clean school.

2. Meow Town Lounge and Adoption Center: https://meowtownlounge.org/

a. Kitten images (multimodal)

b. “There is no obligation, but we hope you will consider opening your heart and giving some of our furbabies a new forever home.” (pathos)

c. “Admittance to Meowtown is just a small donation to help care for our cats and kittens in need!” (purpose)

Purpose: The purpose in this nonprofit website is to have people come to their lounge to keep the cats company so that they will adopt a cat. I think there are multiple purposes here too, like donation is an option.

3. Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association: https://www.miscabike.org/

a. “The Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association (MiSCA) is empowering youth and families by creating a community of cyclists who otherwise may not have found the sport.” (pathos)

b. “Additionally, MiSCA has programming focused on getting more girls active in the sport by creating girls-only events where girls feel welcomed and ensuring girls are included equally in all aspects of the organization.” (pathos)

c. Upcoming events bar (Kairos)

d. 2019 Top-Rated Nonprofit (logos)

e. MiSCA now serves more than 500 kids and 200 coaches throughout the state with new clubs/teams forming all the time. (logos)

f. Images of cycling- mutimodal

Purpose: I believe the purpose of this site is to get people involved in all of the cycling programs and activities to increase health and community.

I believe that the cycling website is the best option to go for in my rhetorical analysis assignment because it has a lot more strategies that I could come up with to be able to write a rhetorical analysis. I was able to identify pathos, logos, and Kairos. I believe that if I dig even further I can find more. The cycling website seems to have a lot on it in general. For example, there was the main website but then on the side bars was a schedule of events they were hosting. Then there was different organizations they had created as well which probably appeals to ethos even!
