Writer's Journal #14

I regularly post on my blog called Rilie’s Momma. It is a blog I created and designed and write for also on Wix like this one. It is mostly an alternative health based blog but I do write about other random things like careers, organization, and tips. I have some fashion posts and recipes as well. I write in the blog about a couple times a month depending on how much time I have and how creative I feel. But so far I have about fifteen blog posts on my blog. All the images on my blog are also my own that I took. The blog is a free Wix blog meaning that only people who have the link will be able to find it online. It does not have a domain, but I hope to add one eventually. Knowing this, it means the audience is whoever I share the link with. I rarely get visitors because I just started the blog a couple months ago and am waiting until I have a steady flow of blog posts before I get a domain for it. So, the audience is anyone with that link that likes my blog. They would have to like alternative health and cats. They must like cats because Rilie is my cat and the blog is named after him basically. My blog is very colorful and artsy so that means it will have a more girly audience.

I think in order to expand my audience, I would have to change a few things. First, I would have to create a domain and pay the extra monthly fee to keep the domain. I would then have to write regularly on more subjects to expand my audience. Some subjects perhaps I could write about is work out plans, animal stories and advice, and maybe some technology related posts. This would reach a bigger audience. The other task would have to be to make my blog less pink and girly. Maybe change the font to a more basic font and then change the pink to a red or orange. I might even consider advertising just so people are aware that it even exists because right now, nobody knows it exists. It takes time to build an audience with blogging so advertising is a good way to do it.

I like thinking about this because this is what I eventually want to do with my blog. I’m excited to see where it goes but I also know it may need some changes to be successful!
